Achieving Reiki Self Attunement

Reiki self attunement can be achieved even without a master Reiki practitioner.  You can achieve Reiki attunement on your own using energy that exists within you already.  With a few short and simple exercises, you can harness the healing power of Reiki without having to visit your local practitioner.

Reiki energy is universal and has no boundaries.  It flows within us and all around us.  Although people may be unaware of it, Reiki energy exists around them as well.  It is not necessary for you to have a religion nor is it bad that you don’t.  Healing touch medicine can be practiced by anyone regardless of their religious background.  Reiki self attunement is the process of submerging ourselves or connecting with the universal energy that surrounds us.  Reiki energy can be reached through spiritual meditation.  It is how Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki, achieved Reiki self attunement while on Mount Kurama.

reiki self attunementThe benefits of Reiki self attunement are boundless.  What it does is it helps you obtain deep relaxation and eradicates tension and stress that builds up overtime within our bodies.  When this stress is finally released, your body is then able to restore its natural healing abilities.  Does Reiki work for a variety of ailments?  Yes, it has benefited those with insomnia, compromised immune systems, and even those undergoing cancer treatments.  Reiki self attunement balances energy throughout the body and promotes recovery.  This boost in energy helps those who suffer from illness from feeling lethargic and too tired to do anything.

Practicing Reiki on your own can be as effective as visiting with a practitioner.  All that is necessary is for you to alter your own consciousness.  If you can do this on your own, you can heal yourself at any given point in time or gather energy rapidly whenever needed.

Learning how to do Reiki on yourself is very simple and easy.  Reiki self attunement can be achieved through a few simple Reiki exercises.  Balance or unblock your chakra through:

  • White Light – Visualize a bright beam of crystal with white light traveling from it to your head.  Imagine the light as bright as you can.  Feel the light penetrating into the insides of your mind, clearing away all negativity and darkness from your crown chakra.  Allow the light to travel throughout the rest of your body eliminating all other negativity from the rest of the chakras.  Your chakras should be completely illuminated and perfectly balanced.
  • Breathing Colors – Imagine breathing in the color green as you take a deep breath.  When you exhale, imagine that it comes out as yellow.  Breathe in blue and breathe out orange.  Make sure you are taking deep breaths each time.  Breathe in purple with your breath and imagine it traveling throughout your cells and blood stream.  Lastly, breathe out red completely.  Continue this process another three times.

Practicing Reiki on yourself can be a challenge at first; however with a few sessions of it, you’ll find yourself capable of doing it effortlessly.  Discovering your Reiki aura opens up power and energy within the body that you were probably unaware of!  Reiki self attunement gives you the ability to heal yourself and the ability to possibly heal others.

Does Reiki Work Today

Are you wondering just how does Reiki work?  Lots of people have the same questions and doubts about Reiki and how effective its powers really are in healing.  It’s understandable that many people have reservations about whether it works or not, but perhaps a simple introduction to Reiki energy will clear that all up.

Energy medicine, healing touch therapy, or Reiki brings positivity into one’s life.  Its main focus is to heal oneself by healing and helping others.  Being attuned to Reiki force energy allows you to become much more aware of negativity or blockages in energy, whether it is in your own body, others around you, animals, and even plants.

How exactly does Reiki work?  Practicing Reiki allows you to channel and transfer energy from your own hands to heal another person.  For someone who has practiced Reiki for a long time, it is easier for them to pick out energy blockages present throughout your body and help clear them up for you.  This allows for the energy coursing throughout your body to flow freely and with greater ease.

Does Reiki work today?  In fact, it does.  It is very relevant to our lifestyle today.  For instance, it can be used to aid someone about to undergo surgery.  A Reiki practitioner can set the intent through Distant Healing for a successful operation and speedy recovery.

Another way in which Reiki can be utilized in our daily lives is by sending intent into the past or the future.  For example, if you find yourself stressed over an upcoming difficult meeting, you can set Reiki energy the night before the meeting so that it fills the room with positivity and harmony—easing your entrance into the meeting.  You can also send Reiki energy into the past to heal yourself from a once traumatic experience.  It is a powerful and effective way to help you cope with the past and the future.

Reiki is in other words, intelligent energy that works for the greater good.  It promotes harmony, positivity, and clarity in one’s life.  It can be applied to any setting, including the home or the office.  Does Reiki work on mending broken or damaged relationships?  Yes, it does.  The end results may be much unexpected!  However, it will always benefit both sides of the party.  Reiki aims for the highest good when it comes to healing oneself and others for that matter.

For those who still wonder whether Reiki does work or not, you’ll only find the answer to your question by trying it out for yourself.  You can even practice Reiki on yourself, at home, and even learn it through Reiki classes online.  Anyone can tap into the powers of Reiki.  It’s simple and very easy to do.  A Reiki master will aid you in attuning yourself to Reiki energy and its symbols.

Reiki has many different schools of thought that each have their own practices and routines, however they each maintain the three pillars of Reiki and are all equally effective.  Level one familiarizes you with the energy and a few symbols.  Level two is where Distance Healing is introduced.  Lastly, level three is the master level.

Your own experience with Reiki will be the only thing that will convince you of its effectiveness.  Does Reiki work, you’ll have to try it out for yourself first!

Basic Reiki for Beginners

I have often been asked about basic Reiki for beginners. What is it exactly and how can I get started are two of the most common questions I get asked. Learning Reiki is actually just a simple healing system that is easy to learn. To define Reiki, I often like to counter with the question, what is the difference between life and death? The answer is usually the spirit or some form of life energy in another name. To that, I reply, “That is Reiki.”

The spirit or inner energy that we have in each one of us is actually an immense source of healing power that can be tapped into by the person who is properly attuned to use it. Reiki for beginners is an intuitive process and for that reason, it is recommended to let your intuition be your guide more than anything. If it feels right, then it is right.

To give a quick taste of Reiki for beginners, I usually like to start with a very basic healing method. Obviously, it is important to know a little bit of the background about Reiki and its core values to get the most out of this exercise.

Reiki originated from Japan but has spread to the rest of the world over the last century. It’s meaning in Japanese translates to “universal energy” and doing Reiki means channeling that energy to oneself or to another. Reiki is a healing art and not a religion, so no matter your religious beliefs Reiki can be accommodated. What’s unique about Reiki’s universal energy is that it is channeled simply by intent, allowing for the possibility of Reiki distance healing where the healer need not even be in physical proximity of the patient to have a healing session. While Reiki is being performed on you, you will often feel tingling and warm sensations over various parts of your body where energy is being concentrated.

Now for the beginner’s technique that will help you discover your inner Reiki aura:

  1. As a simple Reiki technique for beginners, simply start by stating to yourself “I am open to the universal energy of Reiki.” This immediately makes your mind and body receptive to Reiki energy. Find a quiet, restful room where you can meditate on this fact. As you meditate, breath slowing through your nose and inhale deeply, filling your stomach with air. Exhale by releasing the air from your stomach.
  2. After a few minutes of meditation, you should begin to feel relaxation flow through your body. Your mind will also be at ease and you fall into a meditative state. You may feel tingling, hot, or even cold sensations in your hand or crown chakra spots.
  3. At this point you are in what is called the alpha brain wave state when you are ready to start channeling Reiki for healing treatment. At this point you can use your hands over various parts of your body including your head, eyes, throat, chest, and abdomen to begin receiving healing benefits. You can also attempt this basic beginner’s Reiki on yourself or even on an animal.
  4. To wind back down, make sure you give your body some rest as your return to your normal, active state of mind. Your body will know how long the session should last as Reiki is a very intuitive healing art. Listen to your body and you will do no wrong.

This is basic Reiki for beginners that can and should be practiced over and over again as needed.

How to Do Reiki on Yourself

You need not be a master to do Reiki on yourself.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing treatment that uses the life force energy flowing around us. Reiki treatments have become a popular alternative when traditional medical treatments fail or as a healing therapy supplement. Increasingly, more and more hospitals across the national are offering Reiki treatments given by certified Reiki masters who hold Reiki healing sessions. In a usual session, the Reiki practitioner focuses the “ki” energy onto various parts of the patients body, channeling heat and energy where it is most needed.

While it is common to see one person performing Reiki on another, it is actually possible to give Reiki treatment even when two people are not physically close together. This is known as Reiki distance healing. Another unique part of Reiki is that it is also perfectly natural to do Reiki on yourself. Healing yourself through Reiki gives you the same benefits as attending a healing session with the added benefit of convenience. You don’t have to leave your house to receive treatment and you don’t need to pay a certified Reiki healer to treat you. You can do Reiki on yourself as often as you need rather than wait for openings in a busy master’s schedule.

As long as you have basic Reiki training by attending a workshop, class, or even by reading a book, then you are fully equipped to use Reiki on yourself. Doing so will give you a number of great benefits including healing troubled areas, preventing disease, and empowering yourself even further to mold more “ki,” the invisible energy field upon which Reiki is based.

Being able to perform Reiki need only require an open mind, receptiveness to the healing force, and a quiet area where you can be alone and undisturbed. You need not even have completed any Reiki levels of training though at Level I you will certainly be more comfortable and capable of doing this. As long as your are aware, receptive, and attuned to Reiki energy, you will be able to perfrom these steps to do Reiki on yourself.

  1. Lie down on a bed or on the floor with a yoga mat.
  2. Start by practicing breathing exercises. Close your eyes and take deep breaths, being sure to inhale and exhale by expanding your belly. Imagine your “ki” being gathered and molded in your belly.
  3. Cover your thumbs with the tips of your index fingers. Keep your fingers connected to complete circulation. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  4. Move your hands to the sides of your head and cover your temples with your palms resting on your cheekbones. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  5. Move your hands to the front of your face and cover your eyes with your palms resting on your cheekbones. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  6. Move your hands to the sides of your throat and cover the left and right sides of your neck. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  7. Move your hands to your chest and cover each breast. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  8. Move your hands over your belly and cover each side. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  9. Move your hands over your waist and cover each hipbone. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  10. Move your hands over your lower abdominal muscles and keep your hands pointed downward. Stay in this position for a few minutes.
  11. While focusing on breathing and channeling energy the entire time, rest your hands to your sides and relax.

You may feel your hands tingle while your are performing this healing session on yourself. This is normal. You should also feel heat in the areas of your body where your hands are focusing healing energy. By focusing on each area, you are releasing the different chakra spots on your body.

Doing Reiki at Home

Being able to perform Reiki at home is one of the primary benefits of this type of alternative-complementary medicine. Reiki is recognized by the US National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and is even practiced in hospitals and taught in universities. Performing a healing treatment either on yourself or on another is completely free and requires no expensive equipment or harmful drugs with devastating side effects. The practice of Reiki allows anyone to channel, control, and direct healing energy from anywhere to anyone.

The energy “ki” in “Reiki” is the life force that is known by many names and not just in Japan. The Chinese call it “chi” and in India this energy is known as “chakra.” There is scientific evidence that this energy exists and doctors and scientists are only beginning to understand the healing effects Reiki that has on the sick, ill, and the fulfillment of one’s life in general.

Wherever you live, there are bound to be Reiki schools or learning centers where you can go to receive training from a certified Reiki master. There are three levels of Reiki mastery and you are equipped to begin practicing Reiki at home as soon as you complete the first level. The second level covers advanced topics and techniques but Reiki I provides you enough knowledge to use Reiki for holistic healing immediately. Reiki III is for dedicated students who want to make the leap to master level awareness.

If there are no schools or workshops you can attend near your area, there are other alternatives. You don’t even need to have any prior experience to start doing Reiki at home. Plenty of Reiki training books are available at your local library which are free for you to check out so you can study on your own. You set the pace and schedule and you never have to worry about taking any tests or studying. Reiki mastery is all about embracing the principles laid forth by the original Reiki master Mikao Usui and learning how to control and use the healing energy force that is available all around you.

Generally, Reiki is taught in these stages:

  1. Attunement and First Teachings – feeling and experiencing Reiki
  2. Inner Teachings – learning to meditate and use Reiki symbols
  3. Advanced Teachings – distance healing, additional techniques
  4. Mastery – certification to become a Reiki master

There are also digital books that you can download if your library has no books on the subject. These are just as good as any published physical book and carry the added benefit in that you can read it on your computer, mobile device, tablet, or e-reader.

The true power of the web comes into full force with self-study courses so you can learn Reiki at home just like you would at a workshop. Some online courses even take it up a notch with videos taught by a certified Reiki master. The benefits of learning Reiki at home in this manner are convenience and cost. You get the same quality instruction as you would from a local center and it’s usually cheaper than a workshop or class. Some courses even teach you how to go from absolute beginner to full-fledged master complete with official certification so you can begin accepting Reiki students of your own.

Reiki Distance Healing without Boundaries

The true power and unlimited potential of Reiki is realized when it is used for distance healing. The concept of healing through a distance is exactly as it sounds. A Reiki master or practitioner need not be in physical contact or proximity of the subject as the life force energy of Reiki lives in an abstract realm not bounded by physical realities. Whether you use a connection or distant symbol or not, Reiki distance healing can be performed quite effectively regardless of any aids.

The venerable Mikao Usui, founder of Reiki, taught his students to use photographs in place of the Taoist symbol of connection in order to focus the energy on the subject. The use of photographs as stand-ins for healing subjects is still used widely today for distant healing sessions and can be quite useful for practice and training.

In some teachings of modern Reiki today, photographs are not even required as the thought and intent of a Reiki master is enough to send healing energy a subject’s way. This is frequently seen in traditional Reiki sessions where a person comes to a facility to receive treatment. Even while the healer is chatting with the subject or not focused on the healing, heat is still emanating from his or her hands the entire time.

More proof that distance healing can be performed without a photograph can also be performed with a simple experiment. Any Reiki student having achieved at least level one can attempt distant healing to a Reiki sensitive individual. Should the healing-sensitive subject detect energy directed to his person, then support for the case that distance healing need not require a photograph or even focus for it to work.

Still, some students find that photographs are easier to use but in certain situations this may not be possible. In such cases, stand ins like stuffed animals are a great way to achieve the same effect. In fact, you can even carry them on your person as a constant reminder to yourself to send healing energy to each of your subjects. Another great method is to use a patient’s name. Simply write the name on the back of a business card and carry it without. A simple act of just touching the card is enough to channel the flow of healing energy directly at its intended recipient. More information like the subject’s location can also help. The important thing to understand about Reiki distance healing is that it flows in a higher realm that is not constrained by physicality and thus physicality is not needed to send it.

Things healing subjects often report as a result of distant healing these effects:

  • Peacefulness
  • Happiness
  • Calmness
  • Relaxation
  • Energy
  • Euphoria
  • Lightness
  • Heightened spirituality
  • Sighs of relief (emotional blockages being let go)
  • Bodily release of built up toxins

The main keys to Reiki distance healing are truly simple: first, your subject should have your permission to receive treatment; and secondly, you simply need to intend to heal your subject with or without a focal object.

Discovering Your Reiki Aura

Aura is the energy field that is emitted from the surface of each and every human being as well as organism in the Universe. Made of electromagnetic energies, this energy field not only encircles the corporeal body, but also travels within the body. The density of the electro-magnetic energy could vary from person to person, as what he/she is emanating. Usually, the auras keep on changing along with a person’s mood and surroundings. Aura generally has seven auric bodies or levels/ layers.

Auras vibrate to color, sound and light frequencies. The color spectrum of one’s aura varies with one’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual states. An aura usually consist of multiple colors at a time.

Reiki, the spiritual healing therapy, influences the aura bodies or layers. Attunement is the consecrated process to commence Reiki, and it makes the aura stronger and allows the practitioner to get control over his life. It suggests that attunement allows the practitioner to use the universal life energy, for the intention of curing a person or a situation. Reiki master is the only person who can impart the attunement, which is a powerful curative in itself. There are a number of auras that surround an individual.

Aura extend usually to about 2 feet from the body, but sizes vary. An aura can extend very far, and sometimes, e.g. when a person is protecting himself, it remains close to their body.

An aura is fluid, and changes with a person’s mood and environment.

The types of Reiki Auras:

  • Etheric Aura (Base Chakra)
  • Emotional Aura (Sacral Chakra)
  • Mental Aura (Heart Chakra)
  • Astral Aura
  • Etheric Template Aura (Throat Chakra)
  • Celestial Aura (Brow Chakra)
  • Ketheric Template Aura (Crown Chakra)

Learning Reiki Is an Art

Learning Reiki to achieve inner balance is more of an art than anything else. In today’s hectic world of information overload, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get into to touch with your mind, body, and spirit. That’s why Reiki has been established, taught, and practiced for centuries. Reiki is not a religion, as it is commonly misconstrued, so learning Reiki does not conflict with any religious denomination. Foremost, Reiki is a healing art that has long been used to heal the body and mind.

It’s an alternative treatment that has been gaining traction steadily since it was introduced to the West over a hundred years ago. Like Chinese acupuncture, it’s slowly even becoming a mainstream treatment alternative when toxic medications and drugs bring no improvement in health.

Reiki does not discriminate and is open for anyone to learn. There are three stages or degrees of Reiki attunement to progress from student to master. With each level gained a wider set of Reiki techniques ranging from self-developmental to treatment-related will be at a student’s disposal. These techniques have been passed down from generation to generation and have remained mostly unmodified from the art’s founding master Mikao Usui.

  1. After learning Reiki to the first degree, a student will be introduced to the workings and teachings of Reiki including learning about Reiki symbols and opening chakras. This also includes knowing about the different types of Reiki that are practiced. The student completes this level culminating in an initiation of Reiki attunement. Even at this primary stage, a student will be accomplished enough to use Reiki to balance energy, handle the stress of life, calm the mind, and even perform healing on others.
  2. In level two, learning Reiki progresses into other realms beyond the physical. Where the focus is mostly on the physical level in Reiki I, Reiki II teaches awareness in the emotional, spiritual, and mental healing realms. The ability to open more chakra centers will increase the ability to channel the flow of Reiki’s energy through the universe. This also allows for the practice of distant healing where a Reiki master need not be present to heal and treat a patient.
  3. At Reiki III, the student becomes a master. After reaching this level, a student-turned-master is allowed to teach Reiki to other students. A Reiki master knows how to apply and use all Reiki symbols, can open all chakras, and knows how to utilize different energy sources including healing crystals. At this level, all Reiki attunements can be achieved.

Though it may sound extraordinary at first, as a student learns more about Reiki and understands the principles and teachings, the benefits of Reiki as a healing art are realized and solidified. Reiki even has documented proof of its effectiveness in treating and healing others. Simply schedule a Reiki healing session with a local practitioner to experience the benefits of healing energy channeled through your body firsthand.

Dispelling Common Myths about Reiki

Many people often misunderstand the Reiki or healing with energy. Below is a list of some of the more common myths associated with Reiki.

1. Reiki Healing is a Cult or a Religion

This is completely wrong. Reiki is all about spirituality; there is nothing religious about it. There isn’t any Reiki church or a priest who gives sermons on it. The foundation of Reiki lies in its principles that have been laid out for its practicing students. These principles are not at all connected to religion but rather come from a Japanese Emperor. The ability to heal totally corresponds to the ethical code. Although Reiki principles aren’t usually communicated with the person receiving it, they might be in some cases. This communication fully revolves around the well being of the recipient.

2. Mikao Usui was a Christian minister.

Usui came from a Buddhist family and may have practiced Tendai Buddhism.

3. Mikao Usui studied in America at the prestigious, University of Chicago.

Usui never studied at the University of Chicago. In fact, he probably never even visited America. Usui was certainly well-educated and well-read, but it is likely that most of his education came through self-study.

4. Mikao Usui was a physician and that is why he is often referred to as Dr. Usui.

Usui was highly respected as a teacher and mentor. Hence, he was given the title, sensai. “Sensai” was probably changed to “Dr” to make his teachings more palatable to Western students.

5. The Reiki Practitioner Heals the Recipient.

No, not really. This can be explained easily, a person practicing Reiki is the one who pours Reiki energy or universal force of life onto the person receiving it so that they are able to heal their mind, body and spirit. The Reiki healing energy is passed on through the practicing individual and is passed on to the recipient. Here, the Reiki practitioner happens to be only a medium for the healing process. No one has the ability to heal you but yourself. The whole task of healing cannot be designated to someone else.

6. Reiki is a One Time Healing Procedure.

It would be very helpful if this were true. Although there are times those recipients get healed and cured with one short healing session. However, chances of that happening are very rare.

Healing isn’t a one-time thing; it’s holistic, a process, and a path that you need to walk on to see results. To get worthwhile results and experience real changes, Reiki recipients are usually recommended to go through at least 3 to 4 sessions. Typically what clients do is they go through a few sessions, get a break, and come back again in a few months. However be the approach to the problem, the point remains the same, that healing is an ongoing process.

7. Reiki only helps people who believe in it.

Wrong. A patient/client is not required to believe that Reiki works the way it is said to work. Reiki healing energy will go where it is needed. It can help “nonbelievers”, as well as “believers”.

8. Reiki only “works” if you pay for it.

Wrong. This myth was probably started as a way for Takata and other early masters to justify the fees they charged their students. Reiki practitioners certainly have a right to charge for their services — everybody has a right to make a living — but, a Reiki healing session will help the recipient whether it is paid for or is received free of charge.

9. A Reiki Treatment Deserves to Be Free

Reiki is universal, it’s a divine art and complete life force energy – thus it should be free. However, it cannot be provided free of cost unless and until the practitioner himself offers it as a gift or for some charity purposes.

When you are paying to a Reiki practitioner he should be completely prepared to offer the treatment. He must be eligible and have the skill and the ability to direct the Reiki energy for the purpose of your healing. In short, he must put in all the effort required to be a professional, well-equipped service provider. This is the reason why you should be paying for Reiki, just the way you pay for any other health service or surgery.

10. Healing Means Getting Cured.

Curing may be a part of the healing procedure. However, if you do get healed, it does not necessarily mean you’re cured.

Healing is different than curing, in fact they are opposite in their approach towards wellness. Curing works by working on getting rid of the symptoms of the health condition and its physical causes, whereas healing directly attacks the main cause of the health problem. Reiki healing is all about spiritual, emotional and mental re-balancing and unblocking. It works on dissolving the root cause of the condition, which leads to alleviating the symptoms as on the whole.

11. Reiki can replace conventional medical practices.

No. Reiki practitioners agree that serious illnesses, accidents, and other acute medical conditions require traditional medical interventions. However, they do believe that Reiki can be usefully applied to a wide range of physical and mental disorders. They believe that the application of Reiki can help the body heal itself. But, Reiki practitioners generally see Reiki as something that should be combined with conventional treatments.

Sacred Reiki Symbols and Meanings

Reiki symbols are sacred healing symbols which enhance the flow of Life Force Energy. They are like keys that open doors to higher levels of awareness and manifestation.
Reiki symbols are Sanskrit-derived Japanese forms. Sanskrit is the mother-tongue of all other languages. It is the language of the Vedas, the oldest writings known to man. The Vedas say that Sanskrit is the language of the spirit world.

Reiki symbols are shown to the student prior to being attuned, and an imprinting takes place that links the image they are shown to the metaphysical energies the symbol represents. Then the Reiki attunement actually empowers the symbols so that they fulfill their intended purpose upon going through each of the Reiki levels. This process has been created by a Divine covenant or sacred agreement between the Creator and those who have been attuned.

The symbols have their own consciousness, and it is possible to meditate on them and receive guidance on how to use them directly from the symbols themselves. Combined with the proper Reiki techniques, this can yield enhanced results.

This is the Power Symbol. Reiki Energy will flow without it, but when you use it, it is believed that the energy increases significantly. It would be as if you had changed the bulb in a lamp from 50 watts to 500 watts. Use at the beginning of the healing session, and at any other time that additional power is needed. It is geared specifically for healing within the physical body.

This symbol is used for mental and emotional healing, protection, purification, clearing and balancing. It works with the cause of the disease, which is often hidden in the subconscious mind (the emotional body) and/or the conscious mind (the mental body). When the body manifests dis-ease, it is often attempting to deliver a message that there is something that needs tending, that needs attention within the mental or emotional patterns we carry. The mental and emotional healing symbol balances the right and left brain.

This symbol transmits Reiki energy across time and space. Using this symbol you can send Reiki across the room, across town, to other parts of the country or anywhere in the world. Distance is no barrier. You can also use this symbol to bridge time. You can send Reiki into the “future,” where it will store up like a battery, to access at the time you or others will be needing it. Likewise, you can send Reiki into the “past,” to heal issues from earlier in this lifetime, or to past life issues that affect you or others now.

This is the Master Symbol. It’s essence is the Light of the Buddha, the Light of the Awakened Heart. It signifies expanded wisdom and clairvoyance.
